Employees must be Boston residents on their date of hire and for the duration of their
employment subject to BWSC policies and collective bargaining agreements.
Performs user needs assessment and define functional requirements for application design and/or modification and provide support GIS specific software applications throughout the Commission.

Education, Training and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or GIS; three (3) years of experience in GIS application design, development and support; seven years’ experience in GIS application development may be substituted for the Bachelor’s Degree; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Knowledge, Ability and Skill:
Knowledge: Knowledge of Structured Query Language (SQL) and knowledge of Oracle Relational Database Management System or Microsoft’s SQL Server.
Ability: Ability and willingness to perform under pressure, work irregular hours as required and adapt to new methods and procedures. Ability to communicate technical concepts in both written and oral form, to users and other internal and external officials.
Skill: Strong written and verbal communication skills. Excellent interpersonal and analytical skills. Strong organizational and technical skills. Proficient computer skills.
