Position Purpose:
Manages professional, administrative, and supervisory work and is responsible for overseeing the operation and maintenance of the organization’s motor vehicles.

Recommended Minimum Qualifications:
Education, Training, Experience and Certifications:
Associate’s Degree in Business or a related field required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Five to seven (5 - 7) years of experience with a construction company, utility or fleet operation. Any equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Must possess a valid Massachusetts Driver’s License. Certifications of the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) as a Master Automotive Technician, Class A1-A8, is preferred.
Knowledge, Ability and Skill:
Knowledge: Knowledge of fleet management operations; general knowledge and understanding of the Commission policies, procedures and operations. Set department goals.
Ability: Use considerable initiative, think independently and exercise sound judgment; supervise staff engaged in multiple tasks in an effective and supportive manner; monitor and evaluate worker performance; multitask; prepare written and oral reports; communicate effectively.
Skill: Strong written and verbal communication skills; proficient computer skills to include Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook, and other appropriate software applications, involving report generation, database sorting and design.

Supervision:
Supervision Scope: Performs responsible work which involves the exercise of independent judgment and initiative in administering and directing various engineering activities. Performs all work within the established guidelines of state, federal and Commission regulations.
Supervision Received: Work is performed under the direction of the Superintendent Support Service.
Supervision Given: Supervises a division of mechanics and support personnel.
